Married Mary stayed out ALL Night!

Mae Ri (Moon Geun Young) is, unfortunately, quite contrary and didn't want to get married to her father's choice of husband. Her only option? Convincing the world that she was already a married woman.

Mary's Decoy
Kang Moo Gyul (Jang Geun Suk) enters the drama as multi talented singer/songwriter who is willing to help Mae Ri...for a price

Yet, even with all of Kang Moo Gyul help Mae Ri's Father will not be deterred and insists that she be with the man he has chosen for her; regardless of any relationship she has with Kang Moo Gyul.

The love triangle heats up when Byun Jung In (KimJae Wook) offers a deal to the lovebirds in order to spend more time with Mae Ri.

The Contract
To make matters worse Kang Moo Gyul ex-girlfriend Seo Joon (KimHyo Jin), who is a famous actress, wants him back...desperately!

As the drama continues all four characters find themselves working in the same music company! (OMG!)

Declaration of WAR!

Mary Stayed Out All Night is a special romantic comedy filled with exploration of self and the ability to cherish loyalty to those we love...no matter what the circumstances.

Writers WonSu-Yeon (comic), In Eun-A (ep.1-10), and Ko Bong-Hwang (ep.11-16) wove a tale of first love, friendship, and loyalty that has depth and humor. This drama had me laughing and crying...sometimes at the same time.

When you Lie to Me...I Pronounce You Husband & Wife!

When is a lie the only way out? ...according to Gong Ah Jung (Yoon Eun Hye); when you've had enough! Not only is she unappreciated at work, has a nonexistent love life, but her first love was taken by her "best" friend Yoo So Ran (Hong Soo Hyun)! (Who Gong Ah Jung has to see on a regular basis! UGH!)

The only thing that will put Yoo So Ran in her place is if Gong Ah Jung can find an even better husband, not that Yoo So Ran thinks that is even remotely possible(ugh!); but a hero in shining Armani comes into Gong Ah Jung life by the name of Hyun Ki Joon(Kang Ji Hwan)...yum!

1st meeting
Gong Ah Jung is desperate! She tries to bite her tongue but Yoo So Ran takes pleasure in making Gong Ah Jung miserable and jealous. When she finally backs her up into a tight corner Gong Ah Jung can't take it anymore and bursts out with the biggest lie to shut her up...that she is already married... to Hyun Ki Joon.

The Housewarming Party
As you can guess all hell breaks loose(HA!) and the comedy flows to every corner of this drama. Gong Ah Jung gets Hyun Ki Joon to help, after some serious negotiations, and assures him that it is all short term.

Surprise Visit
Brother where art thou?
To make matters worse Hyun Ki Joon's  baby brother Hyun Sang Hee (Sung Joon) is trying to help Gong Ah Jung for his own purposes and is interfering with his brother's would be love life.

Writers Choi Yoon-Jung and Kim Ye-Ri show that even the biggest lies we tell our loved ones can be forgivable through love, laughter, and trust.

Directors KimSu-Ryong and Kwon Hyuk-Chan displayed great talent in scene progressions, close-ups, and holding on to the silence to create a truly spectacular visual feast. Lie to Me is endearing and heartfelt and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Rah! Rah! for Cheer Up!

The never ending struggle with class society is a continuing KDrama must have! In Cheer Up! we find two groups, the haves and have nots, represented by the 1% of a competitive school's highest and lowest achieving students. Baek Ho "Cheerleading Club" and the Real King, a street dance club, come head to head in this prince vs. pauper tale.

The Introduction
The leaders of both groups are Kang Yeon Doo(Jung Eun Ji) of the Real King and Kim Yeol(Lee Won Geun) of Baek Ho. Their relationship starts out rocky but in true KDrama fashion they find people and situations to bond over and a need to protect those they love...and don't forget that they sizzle together onscreen.

The Kiss?
Of course it wouldn't be a High School KDrama without the second male lead, Seo Ha Joon(Kim Ji Soo), who woos the fair maiden's heart, or at least confuses the audience and gives lots and lots of feels!(Whee!)

This love triangle is one of the best written in a very long time. Writer Yoon Soo-Jung provided enough depth in the bromance between Seo Ha Joon and Kim Yeol which encouraged them to be honest and worthy of their friendship.

Bromance
This group of talented actors show the incredible pains and pressures that many Korean high schoolers, especially in a highly competitive school, go through in order to achieve greatness. Unfortunately, the greatness that they are trying to grab on to is mostly their parent's and society's version of happiness. In Cheer Up! the students are thinking for themselves and learning how to become truly happy.

My First KDrama: Boys Over Flowers!

If I had to blame anything for my KDrama addiction it would be Boys Over Flowers! It was the first, of its kind, that I watched and I have not been able to put them down ever again!

This flirty, fun, and fiendish group of boys rule Shinhwa High School...and their lives are forever changed when a new addition is introduced to the school on a swimming scholarship by the name of Geum Jan-di (Gu Hye-sun).

We first encounter the 4F(Flower Boys): Goo Joon Pyo (LeeMin Ho) the Leader, Yoon Ji-hoo (KimHyun-joong) the 2nd in Command, So Yi-jung (Kim Bum) the Artist, and Song Woo-bin (Kim Joon) the Gangster on Geum Jan-di first day of school and she is both fascinated and repulsed by this group of boys.

Introducing the 4F
Geum Jan-di is bullied and teased at school because of her lowly commoner status but she is tough, endearing, honest, and loyal to her friends. This starts chipping some of the ice around Goo Joon Pyo's heart but unfortunately he has no clue on how to love and be loved. (Plus he's the one that started Geum Jan-di's bullying to begin with! Sigh!)

Geum Jan-di stands up for herself
This could easily have been another typical drama but the cast brought empathy and laughter to Boys Over Flowers and it has become one of the most watched and celebrated dramas since 2009. This is the epitome of high school dramas that pushed these actors into Hayllu status.
